Teaching Staff

It is British School of Nanjing policy to employ teachers with outstanding professional credentials from the UK with relevant experience delivering the British National Curriculum.

In order to be qualified, teachers must posses a degree (usually a 3 year course at UK University) coupled with a specialised and relevant Educational/Teaching diploma issued by a reputable institution (usually 1 year). Alternatively, teachers take a specialised 4-year teaching degree, leading to Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) qualification.

Teachers of our Pre-Nursery section must hold at least a diploma of Early Childhood studies (usually 2 years).

Teachers are also required to have relevant experience in other reputable British Schools. Our academic staff has an average teaching experience of 8 years.

Each teacher also has the support of a full-time Teaching Assistant who typically is a university graduate with an  interest in working in education. This approach helps ensure that the highest quality of teaching and learning takes place in our classrooms, particularly in the areas of literacy and numeracy.
