School Hosts BSN Family Fun Day in NanjingBSN and Nanjing Families poured in through the school’s front gate today and were welcomed by one of the most beautiful days since winter’s passing. Stationed near the door, children gathered around the Face Painting booth. Manned by a force of BSN’s volunteer mothers, the children laughed with delight as they had their favorite characters painted on their hands, faces, or arms. In the main hall, hungry parents and children filled plates with food from various countries—most went back for seconds or thirds, including my self. As is always the case, the Korean mothers won our stomachs with their cornucopia of delightful dishes. Outside on the football pitch, children and their parents got their teams ready for the 3-a-side football tourney. The matches were all friendly but still hard fought. Meanwhile, our music teacher, Timo Mcvey, gave everyone a stellar performance on the Cello. People rushed to grab their blankets and then came to sit on the grass while listing to the classical music reverberating through the warm air. The younger children geared up for the Easter Holiday with the BSN Easter Egg hunt and egg painting. Once again we have had a wonderful day at BSN and I felt lucky to be a part of it. All of the thanks and praise go to the Parents and Friends organisation for planning and setting up all of the activities.
