Halloween at The British School of NanjingA HUGE THANK YOU to all the parents who spent many hours in the library preparing decorations and activities for the Halloween Party. Children from Foundation and Key Stage 1 (years 1 and 2) had a screaming good time, surrounded by ghouls and creepy spiders while they went through their different activities. The parents had provided gooey spaghetti to search for eyeballs as well as other (mildly) scary games and stories. The Hall was decorated with large ghosts, huge cobwebs and spiders as well as some tombstones with interesting epitaphs” “Here lies Mr Jones Nothing left but dust and bones” “Here lies Mr Crook Scared to death by a spooky book” “Here lies Mr Shephard Mauled to death by a ferocious leopard” “Vampires are a pain in the neck!” On Friday, years 3, 4 and 5 had their own Halloween Party, with games and activities and a few of their own spooky stories, followed by a Sleepover. This is an important step in developing the children’s self confidence when taken out of their comfort zone and being away from home. |
